Kroger Names Mark Tuffin SVP Of Retail Division

(RTTNews) - Kroger Co. (KR) on Tuesday named Mark Tuffin as its senior vice president of retail divisions. Tuffin succeeds Michael Ellis, who will become Kroger's president and chief operating officer on January 1, 2014.

Tuffin has been president of the company's Smith's Food and Drug Stores division since 2011. He brings more than three decades of grocery industry experience to his new role.

Tuffin held various positions with other supermarket retailers before joining Smith's Food and Drug Stores in 1996. In 2009, Tuffin was named vice president of transition for Kroger.
