Kirkland's Posts Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - Kirkland's Inc. (KIRK) Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $1.0 million or $0.06 per share, compared to a loss of $0.4 million or $0.02 per share in the same period last year.

On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.02 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items. Sales increased 9.8 percent to $106.1 million from $96.7 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $103.99 million.

Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, the company has forecast earnings in the range of $0.77 to $0.82 per share, with revenues ranging between $159 and $162 million. Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.81 per share on fourth-quarter revenues of $164.26 million.

For the fiscal 2014, the company has increased its earnings guidance to a range of $0.90 to 0.95 per share, up from its previous range of $0.80 to $0.90 per share. Analysts currently expect full-year earnings of $0.91 per share.
