Kinross Gold Posts Q2 Loss - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Kinross Gold Corp. (KGC) Wednesday reported second-quarter loss of $3.20 billion or $2.81 per share, compared to profit of $153.6 million or $0.13 per share in the same period last year.

Loss from continuing operations totaled $2.48 billion or $2.17 per share, compared to profit of $114.1 million or $0.10 per share last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter was $119.5 million or $0.10 per share. On average, 15 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.07 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Metal sales dropped to $968.0 million from $1.01 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $929.64 million.
