Keystone Pipeline Clears Major Hurdle With Nebraska Court Approval
(RTTNews) - A Nebraska court has ruled in favor of the proposed route for the $8 billion Keystone XL oil pipeline, ruling that the state's governor was within his authority when he approved the pipeline's route in 2013.
In a split 4-3 vote, the high court vacated Lancaster County District Judge Stephanie Stacy's decision that found a 2012 law used to approve the pipeline unconstitutional, according to the Lincoln Journal Star.
The ruling means that TransCanada has cleared a major hurdle in developing the cross-border pipeline between Alberta's oil sands and U.S. Gulf Coast refineries.
