Juniper Networks Appoints Mike Rose to Its Board of Directors

Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced the appointment of Mike Rose, former executive vice president and chief information officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc, to the Juniper Networks board of directors effective immediately. "I am pleased to welcome Mike to Juniper’s board of directors,” said Scott Kriens, Juniper Networks’ Chairman and CEO. "Mike brings nearly 30 years of industry insight and expertise to the board and will be a strong addition to our extended management team.” Mr. Rose, 54, retired as executive vice president and chief information officer of Royal Dutch Shell plc in November 2005. During Mike’s four years at Shell, he led the organization’s IT function through an ambitious turnaround program. Prior to joining Shell, Mike was vice president and controller of Hewlett-Packard Company (HP). Mike joined HP in its Instrument Business in 1978 and later became its Controller. This was followed by assignments as area business manager, then controller for the HP Computer Systems Business and subsequently Mike served in a similar capacity for the company’s UNIX-based computing solutions, enterprise sales and consulting business. He became chief information officer and was named an HP vice president in 1997. In 2000 he was elected an officer of HP. Mike serves as a non-executive director on the board of Brocade Communications Systems, Inc. headquartered in San Jose, California and serves a member of the company’s audit and corporate development committees. Mike is a native of Geneva, New York and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York.
