(RTTNews) - International Rectifier Corp. (IRF) Wednesday reported second-quarter profit of $17.9 million or $0.25 per share, compared to a loss of $32.7 million or $0.47 per share in the same period last year.

Adjusted earnings for the quarter were $13.4 million or $0.19 per share. On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.18 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenues increased 20.6 percent to $270.0 million from $223.8 million last year. Analysts expected revenues of $265.62 million.
