Huron Consulting Group Adds Four Experts to Growing Practices

    CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 21, 2005--Huron Consulting Group (NASDAQ:HURN) today announced that Maureen Loftus, F. Lisa Murtha, Michael M. Smith and Barry S. Sussman have joined the company at the managing director level.

Holdren, chairman and chief executive officer, Huron Consulting Group. "Their depth of accounting, financial and business experience complements Huron's service offerings.     Maureen Loftus, managing director in Huron's Disputes and Investigations practice, will assist clients with commercial damage cases requiring significant computer forensics, data mining, economics and statistical analysis. Her litigation consulting experience includes developing damage models and valuing businesses in cases involving patent infringement and business interruption among other disputes. Loftus has also provided expert testimony on matters involving breach of contract and patent infringement damages, results of fraud investigation, trade secret misappropriation, liquidated damages, and forensic accounting. Prior to joining Huron, Loftus was a partner in the Financial Advisory Services practice at Deloitte & Touche LLP. She received her B.S. from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Loftus, a Certified Public Accountant, will be based in the company's New York office.
    F. Lisa Murtha, managing director in Huron's Higher Education practice, has more than 20 years of higher education and healthcare industry experience. At Huron, she will assist academic medical center and research institution clients with compliance issues, including clinical trial compliance, billing, and operations. Prior to joining Huron, Murtha was a partner at Parente Randolph, LLC in charge of the firm's national healthcare fraud, compliance and research practice. Murtha is a founding member and current board member of the Health Care Compliance Association. She received her J.D. from the Dickinson School of Law, Pennsylvania State University. Murtha will be based in Huron's New York office.
    Michael M. Smith, managing director in Huron's Higher Education practice, will apply his broad range of financial management expertise in the education, government, and healthcare sectors to Huron's Higher Education clients. During his 30-year career, Smith has assisted numerous clients with financial and business solutions to the challenges associated with all areas of Higher Education including sponsored program administration. He also has extensive experience with the calculation and negotiation of facilities and administrative cost rates. Prior to joining Huron, Smith was the senior vice president in charge of the Higher Education Practice of MAXIMUS. He received his M.H.A. from the Fuqua School of Management at Duke University and his B.A. in Chemistry from Macalester College. Smith will be based in the company's Chicago office.
    Barry S. Sussman, managing director in Huron's Disputes and Investigations practice, will provide clients with expert witness testimony at trial and deposition regarding intellectual property matters. In addition, he has served as an expert on a variety of non-intellectual property business disputes including breach of contract, fraud, post-acquisition and contractual interference. Prior to joining Huron, Sussman was a partner in Ernst & Young's Investigative & Disputes Services Practice. He is a Certified Public Accountant in both New York and Massachusetts. He received his B.S. in Accounting from Lehigh University. Sussman will split his time between Huron's Boston and New York offices.
    Huron's Disputes and Investigations practice provides financial and economic analysis to support law firms and corporations in connection with business disputes, lawsuits and regulatory or internal investigations. The practice has extensive experience in the areas of financial investigations and forensic accounting, including matters involving the Securities and Exchange Commission or other regulatory inquiries, investigations, financial restatements, and special accounting projects. In addition, the practice experts apply economic and econometric analyses in the areas of antitrust and anticompetitive practices, securities fraud, insurance claims and damages, as well as deliver or support independent expert testimony in such cases.
    Huron's Higher Education practice helps research universities and academic medical centers address pressing issues relating to finance, operations, strategy and technology.
