Hurco Companies Q3 Profit Rises; Stock Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Hurco Companies, Inc. (HURC) reported that its net income for its third fiscal quarter ended July 31, 2014 was $4.38 million or $0.66 per share, up from $854,000 or $0.13 per share, for the corresponding period in fiscal 2013.

Operating income was $6.14 million, higher than last year's $1.70 million.

Sales and service fees for the third quarter totaled $55.38 million, an increase of $10.22 million or 23%, compared to the third quarter of fiscal 2013. The year-over-year increase in sales and service fees for the third quarter benefitted from favorable currency impacts of approximately $1.66 million, when translating foreign sales to U.S. Dollars for financial reporting purposes.

HURC closed Thursday's trading at $33.51. In Friday's pre-market trading, the company's shares are up $3.49 or 10.41 percent to $37.00.
