Hitachi Global Storage Technologies Appoints New Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Hitachi GST) today announced the appointment of Karen Rohde as senior vice president of Worldwide Human Resources. Ms. Rohde will lead a team focused on increasing the company’s workforce advantage by building a customer-driven and high-performance culture that promotes global alignment, agility and collaboration. She comes to Hitachi after spending 13 years at Sun Microsystems, Inc., where she most recently served as senior vice president of Human Resources and chief talent officer.
"Karen brings proven expertise in helping companies optimize organizational performance through the use of effective human resources practices,” said Steve Milligan, president and chief executive officer, Hitachi Global Storage Technologies. "She has a strong background in organizational development, global expansion and driving large-scale complex change that will complement our ongoing efforts to build a long-term leadership position in the storage industry.”
Ms. Rohde has more than 20 years of human resources expertise. Her tenure at Sun included executive-level business partner and global practice roles. She played a leading role in the purchase and successful integration of multiple acquisitions. Ms. Rohde began her career at Mobil Oil Corporation and held management positions of increasing responsibility at Ryder Systems, Inc., and Optical Coating Laboratory, Inc., prior to joining Sun.
Ms. Rohde will be located at the company’s U.S. headquarters in San Jose, Calif.
