HealthTronics, Inc. Has Appointed New President and CEO

Mr. Humphries is currently the President and Chief ExecutiveOfficer of Uroplasty, Inc. (AMEX:UPI), a medical device company. Hewas a founding partner in Ascent Medical Technology Fund, L.P., aventure capital fund. Mr. Humphries has over 25 years of healthcareand medical device experience, including being President and ChiefExecutive Officer of American Medical Systems (NASDAQ:AMMD), amanufacturer of medical devices primarily for the urology market.

R. Steven Hicks, Chairman of the Board, stated, "We are quitepleased to have Sam join the HealthTronics' management team. He hasextensive experience in the healthcare industry. His sales, marketingand business development background, especially as it relates to theUrology community, will be invaluable to our Company.

Mr. Humphries also serves on the Board of Directors of Uroplasty,Criticare Systems, Inc. and Universal Hospital Services, Inc.

John Q. Barnidge, who was serving in an additional capacity asHealthTronics' interim President and CEO, will continue in his role asSr. Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.
