Graphic Packaging Q1 Profit Rises, Adj. Earnings Meet Estimates - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Graphic Packaging Holding Co.(GPK), a provider of packaging solutions to food, beverage and other consumer products companies, Thursday reported first-quarter net income attributable to the company of $35.2 million or $0.11 per share, up from $34.9 million or $0.10 per share in the prior year.

Adjusted earnings were $0.13 per share, while the company posted $0.10 in the year-ago quarter.

On average, seven analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.13 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net sales for the quarter declined 2.5% to $1.07 billion from $1.10 billion a year ago. Excluding prior-year sales from divested businesses, net sales increased 1.7%. Analysts estimated revenues of $1.06 billion for the quarter.

Interest expense was $20.4 million, lower than $27.2 million last year.
