Genworth MI Canada Q4 Profit Up - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Genworth MI Canada Inc. (MIC.TO) Tuesday reported fourth-quarter profit of $93 million or $0.98 per share, up from $89 million or $0.90 per share in the same period last year.

Operating income for the quarter was $85 million or $0.90 per share. On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.89 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Net premiums earned decreased to $142 million from $147 million last year. Net investment income totaled $56 million, up from $47 million last year.
