GenCorp Slips To Loss - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - GenCorp Inc (GY), a maker of aerospace and defense products, Friday reported third-quarter net loss of $9.5 million or $0.17 per share compared with a profit of $197.4 million or $2.39 per share last year.

Results for the recent quarter included a pre-tax contract loss of $17.5 million on the Antares AJ-26 program and a pre-tax charge of $9.8 million related to the repurchase of debentures. The prior year had a $206.6 million income tax benefit.

Revenues for the quarter were $419.5 million compared with $367.5 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.19 per share on revenues of $437 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

GenCorp stock closed Friday at $15.17, down $0.29 or 1.88%, on the NYSE. In after hours, the stock dropped $0.72 or 4.75%.
