GenCorp Names Mark Whitney General Counsel and Senior Vice President

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GenCorp Inc. ("GenCorp") announced today that Mark Whitney has been promoted to general counsel, senior vice president and secretary. He had been deputy general counsel and vice president since joining the Company in 2003.

In making the announcement, Terry Hall, chairman, president and chief executive officer noted, "Over the last three years, Mark has become a valuable member of the Company's management team. In his new role as general counsel, Mark will be a key contributor to the future success of GenCorp."

Prior to joining GenCorp, Mr. Whitney was senior corporate counsel at Tyco International focusing on mergers and acquisitions. He began his legal career as an associate with McLane, Graf, Raulerson & Middleton in Manchester, New Hampshire. Mr. Whitney earned his B.A. in Economics from Bowdoin College and his J.D. from Franklin Pierce Law Center. He is a member of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine and California (in-house) bar associations.
