Fuel-Tech N.V. Announces the Appointment of Ronald Seidel as Executive

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 2005--Fuel-Tech N.V. (Nasdaq: FTEK), a world leader in advanced engineering solutions for the optimization of combustion systems in utility and industrial applications, today announced the appointment of Ronald B. Seidel as Executive Consultant. Mr. Seidel's principal role will be to help Fuel Tech penetrate targeted accounts through contacts made during his tenure as a senior utility executive, and to assist in creating additional strategic marketing programs customized to fit the requirements of that industry.
Mr. Seidel brings to Fuel Tech more than 30 years of experience as an engineer, operations manager, marketing executive and senior officer of TXU Corporation (NYSE: TXU), a Dallas-based energy company. TXU Corporation is an $11 billion electric and natural gas company whose businesses generate, transmit, distribute and sell energy to customers in North America and Australia. During his tenure, Mr. Seidel served as Senior Vice President of TXU Fossil Generation and Mining and President of TXU Energy Trading Company. He also served as Vice President with responsibility for managing the power supply and purchase activities for this large electric utility. Mr. Seidel retired from TXU and was Senior Vice President of Energy Supply for City Public Service in San Antonio during 2004. Mr. Seidel holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State and an M.B.A. from Southern Methodist University.
