Fool’s Gold Records and G-Technology™ by Hitachi Partner up for "Tight Space,” a Brand New Streaming Web Series
Music innovator and cultural tastemaker Fool’s Gold Records and premium external storage solution provider G-Technology by Hitachi are teaming up to present a groundbreaking series of live performances and interviews called "Tight Space,” featuring the best and brightest from the Fool’s Gold family. The series will broadcast live from 536 Metropolitan, Fool’s Gold’s newly opened retail store in Williamsburg. Fans who ‘Like’ the G-Technology Facebook page will gain access to this exclusive content (www.facebook.com/gtechnology).

The series was created to introduce the G-CONNECT wireless storage solution for iPad® to a brand new audience of influential and creative individuals. Musicians, artists and creative pros alike can use G-CONNECT™ for on-the-go wireless access¹ to content that’s not already loaded on their iOS devices, including their libraries of favorite dance music. No Internet connection is required. G-CONNECT supports up to five SD or three HD video streams simultaneously², allowing friends to enjoy the latest videos from the Fool’s Gold family. In addition, sharing Internet access with five or more of your friends has never been easier as G-CONNECT also provides a personal hotspot. More information on the G-CONNECT product can be found at www.G-Technology.com.
"Tight Space” is named for a reason: only friends and family will fit in the physical space and be in attendance at the store for the live show, but Fool’s Gold and G-Technology wanted to offer everyone with Facebook access the chance to experience the show as if they were there. With host-with-the-most Elliot Aronow on the mic, "Tight Space” will capture the music and party aesthetic the label has immortalized in videos like Duck Sauce’s "Barbra Streisand.”
"Based on their own creative output, we knew that A-Trak and the Fool’s Gold team would enable G-Technology to reach creative influencers in a very credible and fun way,” said Diana Cartwright, Hitachi GST marketing lead on the G-Technology G-CONNECT launch.
Fool’s Gold co-founder Nick Catchdubs said of the program, "When Hitachi and the G-CONNECT team approached us, it seemed like a natural fit. Fool’s Gold is more than just a label, we’re as obsessed with making and consuming music as our fans. Since we already use G-Technology products in our everyday lives, it made sense to team up on their latest wireless storage device and see what it can do.”
The debut episode of "Tight Space” will stream live on July 20, 2011 at 2pm PDT / 5pm EDT, kicking off with a DJ set by electrofunk kings, Chromeo. DJ guest schedule is as follows:
July 20 - Chromeo
August 3 - A-Trak
August
17 - Treasure Fingers
Fool’s Gold and G-Technology team are also going to offer one lucky winner a chance to actually see one of the shows in person--airfare and hotel included. Liking the G-Technology Facebook page will allow people to enter and win. Go to www.facebook.com/gtechnology to check it out and watch a "Tight Space” teaser clip to get excited.
¹ G-CONNECT must be AC powered and is also compatible with Apple iPad-compatible USB power cables, car power adapters, and external batteries (sold separately).
² The streaming performance of the G-CONNECT is based upon expected available network bandwidth in real world conditions. Traffic on the local network or the presence of other wireless interference may result in less than perfect playback of content. While no explicit limits are placed on the number of devices, limiting the number of devices simultaneously using the G-CONNECT is suggested so that the user experience remains positive.
