Federal Signal Q2 Profit Up, Lifts FY17 Earnings View

(RTTNews) - Federal Signal Corp. (FSS) Tuesday reported an increase in second quarter net income to $11.4 million from $9.1 million last year. On a per share basis, earnings were $0.19, up from $0.15 last year. On an adjusted basis, earnings were $0.23 per share.

On average, 3 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.2 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter increased 30 percent to $224.4 million from $172.3 million a year ago. Wall Street expected $206.53 million.

Looking ahead to the full year 2017, the company raised its adjusted earnings outlook to a range of $0.77 to $0.80 per share, from previous projection range of $0.70 to $0.78. Analysts' projection is for earnings of $0.78 per share.
