Federal Signal Posts Profit In Q3, Revenue Tops View - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Environmental and safety solutions provider Federal Signal Corp. (FSS) Wednesday said third-quarter net income was $16 million or $0.25 per share compared to a loss of $14.7 million or $0.24 per share last year.

Income from continuing operations climbed to $16.8 million or $0.26 per share from $4.4 million or $0.07 per share last year. Adjusted net income from continuing operations was $16.6 million or $0.26 per share, while it totaled $6.3 million or $0.10 per share last year.

On average, 3 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected earnings of $0.17 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Consolidated net sales increased 13 percent to $209.3 million from $185.0 million in the previous year. Analysts estimated revenues of $193.75 million.

Looking ahead, the company said there is good potential for the fourth quarter adjusted earnings per share to be comparable to second and third quarter levels.
