Eversource Energy Announces 18% Retreat In Q4 Profit

(RTTNews) - Eversource Energy (ES) reported a profit for fourth quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its earnings dropped to $189.8 million, or $0.60 per share. This was lower than $230.3 million, or $0.72 per share, in last year's fourth quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.63 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 10.1% to $1.69 billion. This was down from $1.88 billion last year.
