EMC Corp Reports 7% Fall In Q3 Profit

(RTTNews) - EMC Corp (EMC) reported earnings for third quarter that decreased from last year.

The company said its bottom line came in at $837 million, or $0.429 per share. This was down from $903 million, or $0.438 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.44 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.8% to $6.08 billion. This was up from $6.03 billion last year.
