EDF Energies Nouvelles: Appointment of two new directors: Daniel Camus and Thomas Piquemal
Regulatory News:
The Board of Directors of EDF Energies Nouvelles (Paris:EEN) decided at its meeting on 15 April 2010 to appoint two new directors:
- Daniel Camus, was appointed to replace Jean-Louis Mathias, who resigned from his duties as director with effect from 15 April 2010 for the remainder of his term (until 26 May 2010);
- Thomas Piquemal, was appointed to replace EDF, a director represented by Jean-Charles Samy, which resigned from its duties as a director with effect from 15 April 2010 for the remainder of its term (until the Annual General Meeting held to approve the financial statements for the 2012 financial year).
These appointments will be subject to ratification at the Annual General Meeting to be held on 26 May 2010.
Daniel Camus, 58 years old, has a PhD in Economics, is Associate Professor in Management Sciences and is a graduate of the "Institut d’Etudes Politiques” (Institute of Political Studies) in Paris. Daniel Camus joined EDF in 2002 after 25 years working in chemicals and pharmaceuticals within the Hoechst Group in Germany, the United States, Canada and France. There, he held the post of Director of Development at Hoechst Canada Inc., followed by Financial Director and member of the Management Board of Roussel Uclaf SA, Hoechst Marion Roussel AG and Aventis Pharma AG, created by the merger between Hoechst and Rhône Poulenc. He led the transformation of these companies’ finances at a global level and the successive mergers which gave rise to the formation of Aventis.
Since 2002, Daniel Camus has been EDF’s Chief Financial Officer. He steered the opening up of the EDF Group’s capital, then successfully led most of the strategic projects relating to the Group's international activity, such leading the Edison deal in Italy, the withdrawal from Latin America, the acquisition of British Energy in the United Kingdom and the acquisition of an equity interest in Constellation in the United States.
Thomas Piquemal, 40 years old, is a graduate of the "Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales" (ESSEC – College for Economics and Business). He started his career in 1991 with the audit firm Arthur Andersen. In 1995, he joined the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of the bank Lazard Frères. In this context, he was involved in the major financial and strategic transactions of Veolia, in particular the company's capital restructuring and the EDF/Dalkia partnership. In 2008, he took over responsibility in London for the strategic partnership signed between Lazard and the American investment fund Apollo.
In January 2009, Thomas Piquemal joined Veolia Environnement as Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Finance and joined the Group’s Executive Committee. He was nominated EDF’s Group Senior Executive Vice President in charge of Finance in February 2010. Since January 2010 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of Fimalac.
