ECI Telecom Deploys Optical Equipment Valued at $10 Million in Bharti

    PETAH TIKVA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 13, 2005--ECI Telecom (NASDAQ:ECIL), a leading telecommunications solutions provider, announced today that it has completed an initial order in the amount of $10 million for deploying hundreds of XDM(R)-100 optical platforms to Bharti Infotel, a unit of Bharti Tele-Ventures, one of the largest telecommunications companies in India. The new infrastructure encompasses all of India, covering 15,000 kilometers and passing through 10 districts and India's major cities. The installation has been successfully completed and ECI has received Bharti's acceptance and commissioning certificate.
    Bharti Tele-Ventures chose ECI's XDM solution to create additional capacity in its network. The XDM enables Bharti to deliver next generation services to its ten million customers, and offers Bharti unprecedented capacity, cost-savings and ease of integration.

    ECI signed a two-year agreement with Bharti Tele-Ventures, and has been supplying the infrastructure to the company's Bharti Infotel unit, which consists of the national backbone and carrier of carrier divisions.
    The XDM converges intelligent optical networking capabilities with advanced data functionality including Ethernet Layer 2, SDH/SONET, CWDM and DWDM. Offering a modular approach to building next generation services, the XDM enables carriers to maximize investment in existing infrastructure while generating new revenue opportunities.
