Dynegy To Shut Down Multiple Illinois Coal-fueled Units - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Dynegy Inc. (DYN) announced plans to shut down multiple Illinois coal-fueled units. The company said the decision to shut down operations at the Baldwin and Newton units was made after they once again failed to recover their basic operating costs in the most recent MISO capacity auction.

Dynegy is requesting that MISO remove 1,835 megawatts (MW) from MISO Zone 4. An additional 500 MW are targeted for shutdown, and a final determination is likely later in the year.

Dynegy said its full-year 2016 Adjusted EBITDA and Free Cash Flow guidance ranges remain unchanged at $1.00 to $1.20 billion, and $200 million to $400 million, respectively.
