Dunkin' Donuts Tests Donut Fries, Gives Away Cold Brew

(RTTNews) - Dunkin' Donuts is testing donut fries and other snack items at a small number of its restaurants in Boston. The donut chain expects the tests to provide valuable feedback from consumers as well as franchisees and help in future decisions about a possible national rollout.

"As part of Dunkin' Donuts' ongoing commitment to menu innovation and meeting the needs of on-the-go guests, the brand is now testing a new $2 snacking menu at a small number of its restaurants in the Boston market," a spokesperson for Dunkin's Brands said.

The trial includes a new $2 Dunkin' Run menu. In addition to donut fries, it features Munchkins dippers, gluten-free fudge-free brownies, pretzel bites with honey mustard dipping sauce, warm chocolate chip cookies, waffle breaded chicken tenders, and ham-and-cheese rollups.

In addition, Dunkin' Donuts is offering today the opportunity to taste Cold Brew coffee at its restaurants nationwide as part of a nationwide Cold Brew tasting event.

On Friday, April 6, participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants across the country will offer complimentary 3.5-ounce samples between 10 am and 2 pm, while supplies last.

According to Dunkin' Donuts, its cold brew coffee is crafted by hand in small batches, prepared by steeping a special blend of coffee in cold water for 12 hours.

"This longer process extracts a uniquely distinctive, inherently sweeter flavor from the beans reminiscent of dark chocolate," Dunkin' Donuts said.

Chocolate lovers can pair Cold Brew with the chain's new, limited edition Caramel Chocoholic Donut. It features a classic chocolate donut frosted with caramel icing, sprinkled with semi-sweet chocolate curls and a drizzle of caramel icing.
