DICOM Group plc: Retirement of Otto Schmid as Chairman

Otto Schmid, aged 67, is a founder of DICOM Group and wasappointed to the main Board on 15 December 1995. During his tenure asChairman and Chief Executive, he led the strategic development ofDICOM Group from a small Swiss distribution company to a globalcompany offering its own proprietary products. During that time, heoversaw the expansion of DICOM Group throughout Europe and Asia andthe completion of the strategically important acquisition of Kofax,which added industry leading products and transformed DICOM Group froma distribution company into a technology company.

Commenting on his retirement, Otto Schmid said: "In the 15 yearsof its existence, DICOM Group has defined itself as a company drivenby change. As a result of those changes, I am leaving an industryleading company with operations in 29 countries, more than 1,100employees and a bright future ahead of it. Having worked with RobKlatell since he joined at the beginning of the year, I am confidentthat I will be leaving DICOM Group in capable hands with a strongmanagement team. I wish the Company the best of luck for the futureand have no doubt that it will continue to develop its leading globalposition in the Information Capture and Communications market."
