UNIWHEELS accelerates expansion in Stalowa Wola The 2 million wheels capacity increase will be reached one year earlier - at the beginning of 2017 Bad Dürkheim, March 22nd, 2016 UNIWHEELS Group, one of the leading manufacturers of aluminum wheels for cars in Europe, speeds up expansion in the new production plant in Stalowa Wola. Originally, the full capacity increase of 2 million wheels annually was planned for the beginning of 2018, with the first stage of the expansion - enabling a capacity increase of 1.2 mln wheels in total per year - to be completed in the late summer of 2016. The new plan is to reach the full capacity increase one year earlier -at the beginning of 2017 already - with the first stage completion date unchanged. The reason for the acceleration of capacity expansion is stronger than expected customer demand reflected in The Group's order book. The capacity utilization in all production plants has been complete in the last months. According to preliminary figures, the sales performance of UNIWHEELS Group rose by 8.2% in 2015 yoy, to over 7.8 million wheels.

UNIWHEELS CEO Dr. Thomas Buchholz says: "The diversified customer base, new model projects and general growing demand in the automotive industry have an impressive impact on our order book situation. We are running at full capacity utilization, with record levels of sales and this puts us now in the extremely fortunate position to massively accelerate this investment program. We expect the additional capacity to be utilized quickly."

The new factory in Poland will be UNIWHEELS' fourth plant - the Group currently has three production plants, two in Stalowa Wola and one in Germany. After the completion of the new plant in Stalowa Wola, the already world's largest contiguous production site for light-alloy wheels will consist of three adjacent factories, so that the total capacity of the group will reach approx. 10 million wheels annually.
