Gerhard Randa appointed as new CEO of Sberbank Europe

June 30, 2016, Moscow - Gerhard Randa has been appointed as the new CEO of Sberbank Europe AG. At this position, he will succeed Axel Hummel. The candidacy of Mr. Randa has been approved by the Supervisory Board of Sberbank.


Gerhard Randa graduated from the World Trade University in Vienna. Since 1966, he worked as a senior manager in different European banks, in particular he acted as a head of Österreichische Landerbank AG and Bank Austria AG at different times. Starting from 2012, he has been a Member of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank Europe AG.

"I personally believe that Mr. Randa's vast experience and knowledge will definitely benefit our business in Europe", Lev Khasis, First Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank, said. "I would like to congratulate him with the new role and wish him success, enthusiasm and lots of interesting projects ahead".

Sberbank Europe AG is present in ten markets in Central and Eastern Europe: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Slovakia , Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine. The bank's headquarters is in Vienna, Austria. In total, the bank operates 280 branches and has 5,079 employees (as of 31.12.2015).
