ABK Edel Beer rated 'Gold' and 'Love It' at the New York International Beer Competition

 

Tastings.com and the New York International Beer Competition are two of the most globally recognized benchmark awards in the beverage industry with both competitions involving blind tasting panels consisting of a mix of qualified trade buyers, restaurateurs, cicerones, sommeliers, retail beer buyers, distributors, and importers.

Rated as 'exceptional' the independent panel of experts at Tastings.com awarded ABK Hell 'Das Blaue' 93 points and commented the beer is "Minutely hazy light gold color. Citrusy aromas and flavors of lemon marmalade on raisin toast, thyme honey on an onion roll, lemon Italian ice, and candied apple peel with a satiny, bright, finely carbonated, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a warming, interesting, medium-long wafers with lemon cream, nut brittle, bibb lettuce, and clay finish. A fruity and expressive, lemony Helles that begs for another sip."

Rated Gold "Love it" by the New York International Beer Competition ABK Edel 'Spezial Beer'was noted as having "A pale straw color with golden hints and a velvety white frothy head, which reduces gently to some light lacing. To the nose, Edel is mostly hops mixed with a biscuit sweetness and a freshly baked bread aroma with a hint of some sweet apples and pears. On the tongue, you'll notice the slightly toasted malts and light floral hops which start with light biscuit malts, before a sweetness, to form a buttery bitter finish. Easily drinkable. Crisp and refreshing."
