DexOnline.com(TM) Leading Internet Yellow Pages/Local Search Site in 14-State Region for Sixth Straight Quarter
DENVER, Sept. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dex Media, Inc. today announced that DexOnline.com(TM) was the leading Internet Yellow Pages/Local Search site within its 14-state region during the second quarter of 2005 and outdistanced the nearest two competitors combined, according to independent usage data from comScore.

It was the sixth straight quarter DexOnline has been the region's leading IYP/Local Search site, according to comScore data showing DexOnline with 32.0 percent of all IYP/Local Searches in the region during the second quarter.
Rounding out the top five were Yahoo! at 17.0 percent (includes Yahoo! Yellow Pages at 11.6 percent and Yahoo! Local at 5.4 percent); SuperPages (13.3 percent); Google Local (9.9 percent); and Mapquest (5.2 percent). Yellow Book was at 0.8% in the region, according to comScore.
In early 2004, DexOnline handled about one fourth of the region's IYP/Local Searches and today it handles nearly one third of them, according to comScore. During that same time span, comScore reported that the total number of local searches within the region increased 130 percent and the number of searches on DexOnline rose an even more dramatic 186 percent.

Burnett attributed DexOnline's strong usage to the breadth of local information, searchable content capabilities and relevant results the site generates.
The Kelsey Group, an independent market research firm, recently rated DexOnline tops among 15 Local Search sites based on a variety of consumer-focused criteria, including usability, depth of content and the relevancy of its search results.
