David Dodd and Philip Theodore Respond to Claim by Aeterna Zentaris

CHARLESTON, SC, Aug. 4, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - Aeterna Zentaris Inc. (the "Company") has filed a claim against David Dodd, the Company's former CEO, and Philip Theodore, the Company's former General Counsel. Messrs Dodd and Theodore consider the claim to be entirely without merit, and intend to vigorously defend against it.

Mr. Dodd had previously advised the Company that he intended to file a claim against the Company for payment of his severance entitlement under his employment agreement if such payment was not received by August 3, 2017.  As payment of this obligation has not been made, Mr. Dodd's attorneys have now filed this claim in South Carolina.

Mr. Dodd intends to continue to serve as a director of the Company, acting in its best interests and building value for its shareholders.

Messrs Dodd and Theodore do not intend to make any further comment regarding litigation with the Company at this time.
