CTNext Opens Third Round of Applications for Higher Education Initiative Grants

ROCKY HILL, Conn., Aug. 28, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- CTNext, Connecticut's go-to resource for entrepreneurial support, announced its intention to open the third round of applications for the Higher Education Initiative. The program is designed to foster collaboration among institutions of higher education and strengthen institutional capacity as it relates to innovation and entrepreneurship.

In the first two rounds of higher education grants, CTNext awarded a total of $1.75 million in grant distributions to programs approved by the Board of Directors.

"We are pleased to mark another milestone in our mission to foster entrepreneurship and innovation across Connecticut," said Glendowlyn Thames, executive director of CTNext. "Past grant recipients' programs have sparked new ideas amongst students and faculty, and greater collaboration among our state's higher education institutions. We look forward to reviewing the next wave of applications and doubling down on our support of the Higher Education entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem."

Successful higher education initiatives are those programs that support innovation and entrepreneurship. They also establish sustainable relationships and lasting partnerships among the state's higher education institutions and create lasting value by increasing student attraction and retention, generating stronger alumni connections and expanding roles as economic and community anchors.

CTNext will begin accepting grant applications in late August, providing another opportunity for the state's higher education community to bring forth proposals and ideas that will leverage assets to drive innovation.
