Crane Co. Earnings Climb 8% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Crane Co. (CR) announced a profit for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line rose to $68.6 million, or $1.13 per share. This was higher than $63.5 million, or $1.07 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.10 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.2% to $695.9 million. This was up from $694.2 million last year.
