CONSOL Energy Posts Loss In Q1

(RTTNews) - CONSOL Energy Inc. (CNX) Tuesday announced first quarter net loss attributable to the company of $97.57 million compared to profit of $79.03 million in the prior year. Loss per share for the quarter was $0.43, while the company has recorded $0.34 last year.

On average, 16 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to record a loss of $0.09 per share. Analysts estimates usually exclude special items.

Revenue for the quarter declined to $558.514 million from $792.65 million in the previous year. Wall Street was looking for $675.14 million. Natural gas, NGLs and Oil sales were down at $181.255 million, compared to $224.44 million a year ago.
