Cobalt International Names David Powell CFO, EVP, Replacing Shannon Young, III

(RTTNews) - Cobalt International Energy, Inc. (CIE) announced Thursday that it has named David Powell as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. Powell replaces Shannon Young, III. These changes are effective July 8.

Powell previously served as Chief Financial Officer for BHP Billiton - Petroleum from March 2009 until May 2016. There, he was accountable for all finance, accounting, commercial assurance, supply chain and information technology activities.

Powell has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and has served in leadership roles with increasing responsibilities in the United States, as well as Argentina, Russia, Malaysia and Qatar.
