ClearCube® delivers new A6106SLW Workstation providing power users with a high-performance graphics and computing solution
AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- ClearCube announces A6106SLW Workstation. Built for power users with robust graphics applications, ClearCube's A6106SLW Workstation delivers Xeon E3-1200 v5 processors or 6th generation Intel Core i7 and i5 processors, Intel C236 chipset (Skylake), up to 64 GB DDR4-2133 MHz RAM, and NVIDIA's Quadro K420, K1200, K2200, and K4200 video cards. Ten A6106SLW Blade PCs mount in a chassis that takes up only six rack units (10.5 inches).
A6106SLW Workstations are specially designed with embedded PCoIP® host cards that host IP connections from remote desktop zero client end point devices. Zero clients support up to four displays, have no memory, operating system or local storage. All processing takes place on the A6106SLW Workstation, and only pixel changes are transmitted to the zero client devices over an encrypted protocol. No data exists at the desktop location, which is a huge deterrent to data theft and security breaches. Zero clients are so secure they are used by financial trading floors, NSA and other intelligence agencies.
"The new A6106SLW allowed us to design a flexible environment for our demanding workflow, and gave the best utilization of resources," said Jeff Vandehey, Sr. Desktop System Administrator, LAIKA animation studio. "While running in a controlled location, this set of powerful workstations delivers top of the line graphics through a simple connection back to the desktop where it's needed."
Designed to eliminate PCs from work areas, the centralized ClearCube architecture locates workstation assets—including powerful Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and storage drives—in the customer's secure datacenter. Graphics rendering and other computation-intensive applications are typically associated with the roar of noisy GPUs and fans running at full speed, all the time. The A6106SLW virtually eliminates this grievance by optimizing power requirements (lowering fan speed) and sequestering the workstation to a secure datacenter, away from the work area. By centralizing workstations, organizations can power and cool A6106SLWs more cost-effectively than distributed PCs, and IT staff can return workstations to service quicker.
