Ciena Corp. Q4 Loss Narrows - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Ciena Corp. (CIEN), the network specialist, reported that its fourth-quarter net loss narrowed to $9.8 million, or $0.09 per share, from a net loss of $38.8 million, or $0.39 per share, prior year. Adjusted net income for the fourth quarter was $18.3 million, or $0.16 per share.

On average, 21 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report profit per share of $0.24 for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Revenue rose to $583.4 million, from $465.5 million, a year ago. Analysts expected revenue of $568.51 million for the quarter.
