Cepheid Loss Widens; Lifts FY Revenue Guidance - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Molecular diagnostics company Cepheid Inc (CPHD) Thursday reported third-quarter net loss of $7.2 million or $0.10 per share compared with a loss of $1.4 million or $0.02 per share last year.

Excluding items, adjusted earnings for the quarter were $0.06 per share compared with earnings of $0.09 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the quarter were $115.2 million compared with $100 million in the prior year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated a loss of $0.16 per share on revenues of $110 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

Looking ahead to the full year, the company now expects net loss of $0.54 to $0.52 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.11 to $0.13 per share and revenues of $461 million to $465 million. It earlier expected net loss of $0.54 to $0.51 per share, adjusted earnings of $0.10 to $0.13 per share earnings and revenues of $452 million to $461 million.

Analysts expect earnings of $0.52 per share on revenues of $458.8 million for the year.
