CenturyLink, Inc. Q3 Profit Climbs 9%

(RTTNews) - CenturyLink, Inc. (CTL) released earnings for its third quarter that gained ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $390 million, or $0.70 per share. This was higher than $359 million, or $0.63 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.68 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 0.9% to $4.55 billion. This was up from $4.51 billion last year.
