Centrus Energy Stock Surges 12% On U.S.-Korea Nuclear Cooperation Deal

(RTTNews) - Centrus Energy Corp. (LEU) jumped 12.29 percent to $208.05, gaining $22.77 on Tuesday, on the news of signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and POSCO International to explore investment in expanding its uranium enrichment plant in Piketon, Ohio. The agreement, witnessed by U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and Korea's Trade Minister Kim Jung-kwan, also includes an increase in enriched uranium supply under an existing contract signed earlier this year.

The stock opened at $194.25 and traded between $192.35 and $211.50, compared with a prior close of $185.28 on the New York Stock Exchange. Trading volume reached 1.8 million shares, above the average of 1.4 million. Centrus is trading well above its 52-week low of $34.91 and below its high of $264.90.
