BroadSoft Q4 Results Beat View; But Earnings Outlook Disappoints - Quick Facts

(RTTNews) - Multimedia software maker BroadSoft Inc. (BSFT) reported a decline in fourth-quarter net income to $0.5 million or $0.02 per share from $4.9 million or $0.17 per share in the same quarter last year.

On an adjusted basis, net income was $13.3 million or $0.45 per share, compared to $13.4 million or $0.47 per share in the prior-year period. On average, 14 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.41 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

However, total revenue for the quarter grew 13 percent to $51.96 million from $45.81 million in the same period last year and beat analysts consensus revenue estimate of $50.01 million.

Looking ahead to the first quarter, BroadSoft forecast adjusted earnings of $0.01 to $0.12 per share on revenues between $42 million and $46 million. Analysts expect earnings of $0.30 per share for the quarter on revenues of $45.72 million.

For fiscal 2014, BroadSoft forecast adjusted earnings of $1.26 to $1.46 per share on revenues in a range of $206 million to $212 million. Analysts currently estimate earnings of $1.51 per share for the year on revenues of $203.60 million.
