Briggs & Stratton Bottom Line Retreats 11% In Q3

(RTTNews) - Briggs & Stratton (BGG) announced a profit for third quarter that fell compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $34.94 million, or $0.80 per share. This was down from $39.21 million, or $0.86 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.89 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 2.5% to $603.75 million. This was down from $619.02 million last year.
