BREEZE TankESP 5.1 Software Includes Recently Updated AP-42 Tank Emission Factors
DALLAS, Jan. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- BREEZE®, the market-leading provider of EHS software used by environmental professionals worldwide, announces the release of the BREEZE TankESPTM Software Product Suite Version 5.1 for calculating air emissions from liquid storage tanks. Industrial facilities, such as refineries, oil & gas facilities, and terminals, frequently operate a variety of liquid storage tanks, the emissions from which must be accounted for as part of the facility's air emissions. On November 20, 2019, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized revisions to its guidance for estimating emissions from storage tanks as published in Chapter 7.1 of the Compilation of Air Pollutant Emissions Factors (AP-42), Volume 1. BREEZE TankESP has been revised to enable users to estimate emissions using the latest emission methods and meteorological data.
Additional software enhancements introduced in Version 5.1 include the following:
- Allows the user to toggle between the "old" AP-42 equations (which may be appropriate when demonstrating compliance with an existing air permit) and the "new" AP-42 equations (which may be appropriate when preparing an application for a new permit)
- Incorporates the updated meteorological data that were included in the final revisions to AP-42 Chapter 7.1
- Incorporates the changes that were proposed for AP-42 Chapter 7.1 in 2018 and finalized in 2019, including adjustments to the temperature equations, and clarification of how to model heated and/or insulated tanks (the methodology for estimating tank cleaning emissions had already been in TankESP)
The new BREEZE TankESP Software Product Suite is available in several formats to meet user needs. TankESP PRO is a comprehensive software suite with database features for calculating emissions from all types of tanks.
TankESP FX is available for calculating emissions from fixed-roof tanks only (i.e., tanks without floating roofs). Finally, TankESP LT calculates monthly and annual working and standing loss for both fixed- and floating-roof tanks.
BREEZE products are developed and distributed by Trinity Consultants and used by more than 4,000 environmental and safety professionals in more than 90 countries worldwide. For more information, visit breeze-software.com/software/TankESP or email breeze@trinityconsultants.com.
