BlueLinx Holdings Names Mitchell Lewis President And CEO

(RTTNews) - BlueLinx Holdings Inc. (BXC), a distributor of building products, Friday said it appointed Mitchell Lewis as president and chief executive officer, effective as of January 20. Lewis will also be appointed as a member of the Board of Directors at that time.

Mitchell Lewis has served as president and CEO of Euramax Holdings from 2008 to 2013. In Euramax, he worked as chief operating officer in 2005, executive vice president in 2002, and group vice president in 1997. Howard Cohen, Executive Chairman of BlueLinx' Board, said, "We believe his experience in the building products industry and his exceptional track record of driving growth will strengthen BlueLinx and build a bright future for the Company."

BlueLinx also announced that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Howard Cohen, will step down, effective as of January 20. Cohen said, "BlueLinx' management team is committed to the Company's success, and I am very appreciative of the support I have received during my tenure as Executive Chairman." Cohen will continue to remain as a member of the Board of Directors.

The Board of Directors has appointed Roy Hailey as Non-Executive Chairman of the Board. Haily has been a member of the Board since May last year, and until he retired in May 2011, he served as the Executive Chairman of WESCO International. Until 2009, he was the Chairman and CEO of WESCO.

Hailey said, "I look forward to assisting with Mitch's transition into the role of Chief Executive Officer and working more closely with both the Board and management."

Thursday, the stock closed at $1.74 on the NYSE.
