Blood Drive hosted by Heritage Ford in South Burlington

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt., March 10, 2017 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Heritage Auto group regularly looks for opportunities to give back or become involved within the South Burlington area community. Knowing the importance of blood donations, Heritage Ford is hosting the American Red Cross for a blood drive at its dealership.

The blood drive at Heritage Ford will be held on Monday, March 13, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The American Red Cross' blood drive bus will be parked conveniently in front of the Heritage Ford showroom.

At the drive, the American Red Cross will be taking both blood and power red donations. During a blood donation, which is the most common, around one pint of blood is given in a process that takes roughly one hour. A power red donation, on the other hand, collects cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets. There are certain requirements one must meet for a power red donations, such as having type A negative, B negative or O as a blood type.

The blood drive will be held at the Heritage Ford dealership lot, located at 1600 Shelburne Road in South Burlington. Visitors are also encouraged to browse the available new and used vehicles at Heritage Ford. Heritage Ford also provides a number of available auto services for those seeking maintenance on their vehicles.
