Blackrock Inc. Reports 5% Retreat In Q3 Bottom Line

(RTTNews) - Blackrock Inc. (BLK) reported earnings for third quarter that lost ground compared to the same period last year.

The company said its bottom line declined to $844 million, or $5.00 per share. This was lower than $890 million, or $5.21 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $4.57 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 2.1% to $2.91 billion. This was up from $2.85 billion last year.
