MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 2005--Select Comfort Corporation (NASDAQ:SCSS), the nation's leading bed retailer and creator of the Sleep Number(R) bed, today announced that it has established a retail sales relationship with Better Bedding, based in East Hartford, Conn. Better Bedding will feature the Sleep Number(R) bed in its 17 locations in Connecticut and western Massachusetts. It is the first east coast-based retail partnership for Select Comfort.
"Select Comfort's strategy for expansion outside our own stores continues to be very selective, partnering only with those retailers who share our commitment for improving peoples' lives by improving their sleep," said Keith Spurgeon, senior vice president of sales for Select Comfort. "Better Bedding ensures that all of its sales associates are certified as sleep experts by the National Sleep Foundation, and that they are dedicated to helping customers choose a mattress that will help them achieve a better night's sleep."
The Sleep Number bed utilizes patented technology that allows the mattress to be quickly adjusted for personalized comfort on each side of the bed via a hand-held remote control. A Sleep Number is a number between zero and 100 which represents the ideal combination of mattress comfort, firmness and support for each individual.
