Belden Appoints Wolfgang Babel to Head EMEA Business Segment

ST. LOUIS, March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Belden has announced the appointment of Wolfgang Babel as Vice President, Operations, and President of Belden Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Dr. Babel joined Belden in October 2007 as Managing Director of Belden Automation, comprising Hirschmann and Lumberg Automation. Dr. Babel served as Managing Director of Endress + Hauser Conducta Gesellschaft fur Mess- und Regeltechnik mbH & Co., KG, in Gerlingen, Germany, designers and manufacturers of measurement equipment and process instrumentation. Previously he held progressively responsible positions with Diehl GmbH & Co. KG, an electronics and munitions company. He has a Doctor of Engineering degree in information technology from the Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat in Nuremberg and a Ph.D. in System Theory Mathematics from Columbia Pacific University, San Francisco.
