BearingPoint Completes College Admissions CRM Implementation for Hobart and William Smith Colleges

BearingPoint, Inc. (NYSE:BE), one of the world’s largest management and technology consulting firms, today announced it has completed Phase I of the implementation of Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise CRM for Higher Education for the Admissions Office at Hobart and William Smith Colleges (HWS) in Geneva, New York. HWS now has one of the most advanced customer relationship management systems in higher education, allowing its Admissions Office to provide increased service to students, applicants and prospects. Over 4,000 new applications are received annually by HWS for an entering class of roughly 565 students. The new admissions system, implemented and customized by BearingPoint using Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise Campus Solutions, enables better data collection and management throughout the admissions process. It is expected to produce multiple benefits for students and faculty alike, and has features to assist in managing: Student Prospecting and Recruitment Student Application Process Student-Parent Involvement Recruiter and Counselor Activity Management Surveying of Prospects and Applicants Reporting With the new system, HWS can capture more information critical to its recruiting process, including student participation data, and maintain detailed contact histories with schools and counselors. The system is also able to increase data quality by allowing direct upload of information from the Common Application for College Admissions, as well as the College Board and ACT exams. Student prospects can check the status of their application online, and the Admissions Office can rapidly access data at key decision-making moments. Using PeopleSoft Enterprise Performance Management in conjunction with CRM allows HWS to produce a variety of reports throughout the recruiting and admissions cycle, allowing staff to track status, as well as use admission trend data for planning and process improvements.
