Bankrate Appoints Kenneth S. Esterow as Chief Operating Officer

NEW YORK, Sept. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Bankrate, Inc. (NYSE: RATE) announced the appointment of Kenneth S. Esterow as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Bankrate, Inc.  Mr. Esterow will be based in Bankrate's New York City office.

In this newly created position, Mr. Esterow will report to Bankrate's President and Chief Executive Officer, Thomas R. Evans.  Mr. Esterow's responsibilities will include: leading new product development, improving marketing efficiency, expanding deeper partner integration and enhancing operational excellence.

From 2007 until 2011, Mr. Esterow was the President and CEO of GTA by Travelport, a global online B2B travel distributor with $2 billion in gross revenues.  At GTA, he delivered 80% EBITDA growth and then led GTA's sale to the Kuoni Group.  Mr. Esterow spent six years (2000 - 2006) at Cendant Corporation, where he held the positions of Senior Vice President, eCommerce Development, Chief Business Development Officer, Executive Vice President, Supplier Services and ultimately, President and CEO, Travel Industry Services, Americas.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Esterow held a number of executive positions at The Netmarket Group and Deloitte Management Consulting.  Mr. Esterow is a Director at Orbitz Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: OWW). Mr. Esterow holds a Masters of Business Administration from The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the University of Pennsylvania.
