Assured Guaranty Q3 Profit Down

(RTTNews) - Assured Guaranty Ltd. (AGO) Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $355 million or $2.09 per share, compared with $384 million or $2.09 per share last year.

Operating income for the quarter rose to $177 million or $1.05 per share from $117 million or $0.64 per share last year.

Net earned premiums in operating income dropped to $149 million from $173 million last year. Total revenues dropped to $525 million from $670 million last year.

Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters estimated earnings of $0.59 per share on revenues of $144.63 million for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
